A Full Head of Steam

In 1999, Gary was commissioned by Northern Sky Music to write a song for 'A Full Head of Steam', a CD of 15 songs about trains from the birthplace of the railways celebrating the 175th anniversary of the first passenger steam train from Stockton to Darlington in 1825, all by North East of England artists, including Vin Garbut, Lindisfarne, Jez Lowe, Martin Stephenson and many more.

For this project, Gary came up with 'Full Circle', which was recorded by Gary's band The Whisky Priests, exclusively for the 'A Full Head of Steam' album.

To promote the project and the release of the CD, The Whisky Priests performed the song at a number of 'A Full Head of Steam' launch events throughout the Durham region.
